Where and how we store our precious stuff can be interesting, clever and hysterical to others. Some try to hide their stash from spouses who do not understand the need for Stuff! Just when you think you have heard it all....garbage bags of yarn in the attic, no insulation needed! Storage in car trunks, under sofas and beds...don't think we have heard it all, just yet! How do you stash your stuff?

Tip: I use new bakery bags found at restaurant supply stores or warehouse stores, to keep the cones and skeins from getting dusty or dirty- especially the light colors! I put the bag over the cone and tuck the ends in the cone, sits well on a shelf. You can also use twist ties to close the bags.

The bags come in a variety of sizes:
Low density clear poly bag- bakery and food service bag
For Cones: Size 8x4x18 1 mil
For Small Skeins:
Size 4x2x12 1 mil

Tip: For Long needles, I use a "leather" wine gift container, from a local craft store, to keep needles together while packing for trips. The needles stay safe in the suitcase without breaking.

Tip: Patterns in magazines and books. I can never find the pattern in a magazine or book that I am looking for, so I now take a copy of the pattern, my working copy and file it in a clear acetate 3 ring binder sheet protector in a binder for patterns or stitches. That way I have the information organized. I make sure it is noted what magazine or book it was taken from, so if I need to check on errata.

Tip: While knitting I always have a stick it notepad, in case i get interrupted mid row- i jot down where i am or what stitch pattern is next.
